IELTS is usually required for university admission in both Dubai and Malaysia, but there are some exceptions.

- Dubai: Most universities ask for IELTS (typically 6.0 - 7.0), but some accept alternatives like TOEFL or PTE. If your previous education was in English, you may be eligible for an IELTS waiver with a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate. Some institutions may offer conditional admission or allow you to submit IELTS results later.

- Malaysia: Most programs require IELTS (usually 5.0 - 6.5), with alternatives like TOEFL, PTE Academic, or MUET sometimes accepted. An MOI certificate can sometimes qualify you for an IELTS waiver. Some universities offer pathway or English preparation programs if you don't meet the standard requirement.

Requirements and waivers depend on the university and program.
