→Is it mandatory to take IELTS for admission or visa purposes, or can I use Duolingo as an alternative?
→What are the English proficiency test score requirements for Ireland, and how can I prepare for Duolingo for a Master's?
→Is Duolingo accepted for Ireland admissions and should I plan to take it for a Master's?
→Yes, plan on Duolingo for your Ireland Master's if you value flexibility and lower cost. Trinity, UCD, UCC and DCU accept it for postgraduate admission and Irish immigration recognises it for visas, with typical score needs of 110 to 120+, though some competitive courses still demand IELTS or TOEFL.
Is a Duolingo test score mandatory to apply for Ireland, and do I need a passport before taking the test?
→Whether Duolingo is mandatory depends entirely on your specific Irish school and course, since some institutions accept it while others require IELTS or TOEFL instead. You do not strictly need a passport for the test itself, since Duolingo also accepts a driver's license or national ID card as valid identification.
