The MTP Act means you are competing for fewer training posts as an IMG, and the landscape in competitive specialties has tightened considerably. That said, doctors who plan carefully - building clinical attachments, targeting less competitive specialties, and networking early - are still making this work. If your goal is a UK degree rather than clinical practice, the non-clinical Masters route at LSHTM or Imperial is globally respected, faster to complete, and does not require GMC registration. Decide upfront what outcome you actually want - clinical practice in the UK, or an internationally valuable qualification - because the right pathway is completely different for each.
