If I take a placement year in the UK, how much funds do I have to show on my proof of funds (POF)?

You must show proof of funds for your tuition fees and living expenses for up to nine months when applying for a UK Student visa. The required living expenses depend on your study location:

- London: £1,529/month, up to £13,761 for nine months
- Outside London: £1,171/month, up to £10,539 for nine months

These amounts are in addition to your first-year tuition fees. For a placement year, you typically do not need to show extra funds if it is considered a work placement or internship, but requirements can vary based on your course and visa guidance.
