If a company offers a salary below £41,000 but sponsors my visa, will that be acceptable for skilled worker visa in UK for a PhD?

It depends. A UK Skilled Worker visa usually requires a minimum salary of £41,700/year or the “going rate” for your job - whichever is higher. However, there are exceptions where a lower salary is acceptable:

- Immigration Salary List (ISL) roles: minimum £33,400/year
- New entrant rate (under 26, recent graduate, or in professional training): minimum £33,400/year
- Relevant PhD: minimum £37,500/year
- Minimum hourly rate: £17.13/hour

Your eligibility for a lower salary depends on your job type and personal circumstances. With your background and experience, you may qualify for the new entrant rate or other exceptions if your job offer meets the criteria.
