The Ontario Graduate Scholarship is awarded for a single two- or three-term academic year in a non-professional graduate program. You should check the official page for the latest amounts and rules.

Award Amounts

Terms of studyAward
Two consecutive termsCAD 10,000 (approx INR 6.70 L)
Three consecutive termsCAD 15,000 (approx INR 10.05 L)

Duration and Limits

  • Terms must be essentially consecutive.
  • Each award is issued for at least one academic year and up to a maximum of two years (up to six consecutive terms).
  • Maximums: master's students two academic years, doctoral students four, and a lifetime limit of six for all students.
  • Of about 3,000 awards a year, 90 are specifically for students on a temporary resident visa in the student class.

My Advice

Plan your funding around the term count of your program, since the award depends on whether you study two or three consecutive terms. Confirm the amounts and the international student allocation on the official OGS page.
