How many questions are in the SAT exam and how is the test structured across all sections?
The Digital SAT has 98 questions and runs 2 hours 14 minutes. It splits into Reading and Writing with 54 questions across two modules, and Math with 44 questions across two modules. The format is adaptive, so your first module decides the difficulty of your second.
The Digital SAT is shorter and smarter than the old paper test. You face 98 questions in total across 2 hours and 14 minutes, and the exam is multistage adaptive, which means your performance on each first module sets the difficulty of the second module in that section.

My Advice
Since the test is adaptive, treat the first module of each section as your make-or-break moment, because a strong start unlocks the higher-difficulty second module that leads to top scores. Practise with the built-in Desmos graphing calculator so it feels natural on test day, and do not waste time hunting for the two unscored pretest questions, as they look identical to the real ones.
