How long do I need to wait before reapplying to Australia after a visa refusal?

You can usually reapply for an Australian student visa immediately after a refusal - there is no standard waiting period.

However, there are two key exceptions:
- Public Interest Criterion 4020: If your refusal was due to false or misleading information, you may be barred from reapplying for most Australian visas for 3 years.
- Section 48 Bar: If your application was refused while you were already in Australia, you may be prevented from applying for most substantive visas while you remain onshore.

To improve your chances, address the reasons for your initial refusal in your new application. If you need personalized advice, connect with your LeapScholar counsellor.
