How long do I have to wait after studies to get a job in the UK or do I have to return to my country for a Master's?

You do not need to return to your country immediately after your studies in the UK. You can apply for the Graduate Visa (post-study work visa, or PSW), which allows you to stay and work or look for work in the UK without employer sponsorship.

- If you apply by 31 December 2026: the visa is valid for up to 2 years for master's graduates.
- From 1 January 2027: validity will be 18 months for master's graduates (subject to change).

You must apply before your current Student visa expires - there is no grace period after expiry. Once granted, you can work full-time, switch jobs, or be self-employed.
