Given my 7.3 GPA in a four-year IT degree and 9 months of work experience, which Master's courses in tech-focused fields should I consider in Germany and Ireland, and what specializations would be well-suited to my background and career goals?

Germany's academic calendar catches a lot of applicants out here. What German universities call the January intake is usually the Summer Semester, starting around April, and the pool of English-taught computing programmes admitting then is considerably smaller than the winter intake. Ireland, by contrast, has a genuine and well-populated January calendar for computing master's.

My Advice

DCU's own page lists December 4, 2026 as its January-intake application close, and places can fill before that, so treat Ireland as your near-term track and apply early. If Germany is your real priority rather than Ireland, look seriously at the Winter 2027-28 intake instead of forcing a January start, since it opens up a much wider set of programmes than the summer semester does.
