For a CSP student visa, is a tuition fee notice enough, or is proof of payment required for public universities?
No, a fee notice is not enough once your public university actually charges tuition. Tuition-free courses need only your admission letter, but fee-charging programs require an official receipt, an enhanced blocked account top-up, or a loan sanction letter covering your first two semesters.
Your tuition fee notice alone will not satisfy the Consular Services Portal if your public university program genuinely charges tuition. You need to show how those fees are actually covered for your first two semesters, not just what they cost.
What You Need, By Program Type
| Program type | What CSP needs |
|---|---|
| Tuition-free (most public courses) | Just your admission letter |
| Charges tuition, roughly EUR 1,500+ per semester | Fee notice plus proof of payment |
That works out to roughly Rs 1.4 lakh per semester at current exchange rates, so plan your funding proof around that figure if your program falls into this category.
Three Ways To Prove Tuition Funding
- An official university receipt confirming you already paid the fees in advance.
- An enhanced blocked account, where you deposit an extra unblocked sum on top of your regular living costs balance.
- A verified loan sanction letter from an NBFC lender that explicitly states it covers tuition fees.
My Advice
Check your admission letter first: if it lists only a semester contribution, your blocked account already covers you and you simply upload the letter. If it lists real tuition, pick one funding proof today, get it in writing from your university or bank, and upload it alongside your fee notice in the CSP Fees section so your file is not held up for clarification.
