Does my total GMAT score under the Focus Edition include all three sections?

Under the current GMAT Focus Edition, your Total Score genuinely reflects all three sections you take. Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights each feed into that single number, which is a real change from how the older edition calculated its headline score.

Since Data Insights now counts directly toward your Total Score, you cannot afford to treat it as a lower-priority section during preparation. The added Question Review and Edit feature also lets you revisit earlier answers within a section, which changes how you might plan your pacing.

My Advice

Split your study time roughly evenly across all three sections instead of over-preparing for Quant and Verbal out of old habit. Use timed practice sets that include Data Insights every time so it stops feeling like the section you are least ready for.
