It depends. Cleared backlogs usually have a limited impact on your admission chances, especially if the number is low and your final academic record is strong.

For Germany, most public universities accept up to 5 - 8 cleared backlogs, while top institutions may prefer 0 - 3. Universities of Applied Sciences can be more flexible, sometimes accepting up to 12 - 15 cleared backlogs.

Admission decisions also consider your overall grades, work experience, and other achievements. Active backlogs (not cleared) can negatively affect your chances.
