It depends. Most Canadian universities require proof of English proficiency, typically through exams like IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE. The usual requirement for undergraduate programs is an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.

If your previous education was in English and you have a valid Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate, some universities may waive this requirement. A few universities also accept alternative tests or offer conditional admission with additional English courses.

For your Canadian study permit, an English test is not strictly mandatory, but it can strengthen your application.
