In most cases, universities abroad require or recommend an English language proficiency test such as IELTS or TOEFL, as these are the most widely accepted exams. Some universities may also accept alternatives like PTE or Duolingo English Test. In the UK, certain universities may offer English language waivers based on your Class 12 English scores, especially if you studied in an English-medium school. The eligibility for such waivers depends on factors such as your education board (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, etc.), your marks in English, and the university’s specific requirements. Some universities may also grant waivers based on a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your previous institution.
