Can you repeat the information about taking a dependent with me during my studies in the UK for a Master's/PhD?
It depends. You can bring your husband and daughter as dependents to the UK while studying, but only if your master's course qualifies.
- Dependents are allowed if you are enrolled in a full-time postgraduate research degree (such as a PhD) lasting 9 months or more, or if you are a government-sponsored student on a full-time course of at least 6 months.
- Taught master's students (without government sponsorship) generally cannot bring dependents under current UK rules.
- Financial requirement: You must show funds of about £680/month per dependent (outside London) or £845/month (in London) for up to 9 months, held for at least 28 days.
- Proof needed: Marriage and birth certificates, plus evidence of funds.
UK immigration rules are subject to change.
