Can you explain the process and documents needed for visa application after university acceptance in Germany/UAE?
After university acceptance, the visa application process and required documents depend on your destination:
Germany:
- Book a visa appointment early (wait times can be 3 - 6 months).
- Prepare documents: valid passport, university admission letter, APS certificate (for Indian students), proof of financial means (blocked account of about €11,904 or equivalent funding), health insurance, academic transcripts, language proficiency proof (IELTS/TOEFL or German test), completed visa application form (VIDEX), biometric photos, motivation letter, CV, and visa fee receipt (€75).
- Attend your appointment, submit documents, provide biometrics, and complete an interview if required.
- Processing usually takes 4 - 8 weeks.
- After approval, arrange travel, register your residence, and apply for a residence permit in Germany.
UAE:
- Your university sponsors your visa and manages most of the process.
- Prepare: valid passport (6+ months), admission letter, passport photos, proof of funds, attested academic certificates, medical fitness certificate (done in UAE), police clearance (if needed), and health insurance.
- The university applies for your entry permit (e-visa).
- On arrival, complete medical tests and biometric registration for Emirates ID.
- Your student residence visa (1 year, renewable) is then stamped in your passport.
Start early to avoid delays.
