Can I request a rescore of my PTE Academic result, and which parts are rescored?

Quick Answer verified

You can request a PTE Academic rescore, but only spoken responses and open-ended written responses are rescored. It applies to your most recent test only. You cannot request it after scheduling another test or sending your score to an institution. Check the official PTE page.

You can request a rescore if you are unhappy with your PTE Academic score, but the test is computer-scored, so errors are highly unlikely. Only certain responses are rescored.

Rescore Rules at a Glance

Point	Details
What is rescored	Spoken responses and open-ended written responses only
Which test	Only your most recent PTE Academic test
When you cannot request	If you have already scheduled another test or sent your score to an institution
If the score changes	The new score replaces the previous one and the score report is reissued

What to Do Before Requesting

Do not schedule another test or send scores before you decide on a rescore.
Review your spoken and written sections first to see where you may have lost marks.

My Advice

Think carefully before asking for a rescore, as the test is computer-scored and a change is not common. Confirm the latest process and any fee on the official PTE site.
