Yes, there are specific requirements to bring your spouse as a dependant while you study in the UK. You can only do so if you are a government-sponsored student on a full-time course of 6 months or longer, or if you are enrolled in a full-time postgraduate research degree (PhD or similar) lasting at least 9 months. For some courses started before 1 January 2024, dependants may be allowed if you are studying at postgraduate level for 9 months or more. Your spouse will need to show proof of your relationship and evidence of sufficient funds to support themselves - £845 per month if you study in London, or £680 per month outside London, held for 28 consecutive days before applying.
