After completing my MBA and work experience visa, will I be able to stay in the US or UK, or do I need to return to India?
After finishing your MBA in the US or UK, you can remain and work for a limited time if you follow each country’s visa rules. In the US, an F-1 visa lets you work for up to 12 months through Optional Practical Training (OPT), with a possible 24-month extension if your MBA is STEM-designated. For longer stays, you’ll need an employer to sponsor your H-1B visa, which is competitive and subject to annual limits. In the UK, after your MBA, you can apply for the Graduate Route to work or job-hunt for up to two years. Switching to a longer-term visa, like the Skilled Worker or Innovator Founder visa, is possible if you meet the requirements. Planning ahead for these transitions is important.
