Chocolates are my favorite food. I prefer to eat dark chocolate whenever I feel like to eat chocolate. Usually, I don't like to eat chocolate like milk bar. Moreover, I don't prefer to eat chocolate which taste like milk. I feel that it doesn't taste good. As I am lactose intolerant person, I don't prefer to eat the chocolates which contain milk or milk powder. I usually don't eat milk products at all. Whenever I eat the chocolates which contain milk products, I feel like nausea, vomiting sensation. Sometimes, I feel like itching sensation on my skin and my throat also. Most of the times, I avoid eating milk chocolates. In that, sometimes I will eat chocolates which contain more percentages of cocoa which we call as dark chocolate. In addition, I also eat dairy milk 5 times a day. I think it's a good mood booster.

Approximately two months ago, I had a visit with my family, to a family trip and we were going through the plains, so we were at the airport. I saw a chocolate outlet while waiting for our boarding. So, I along with my kids were very excited because we all love chocolates very much. So, we went for some shopping for the chocolates. There was one golden color packing which attracted me a lot, saying it has some hazelnuts. So, I insisted my husband for buying that chocolate. Worth, it was approximately about one to two thousand. Expensive on its side and the packaging seemed very appealing to me. So, I had it. But when I tasted it, it felt like hell because it was very bitter. Because the word chocolate, it is, chocolate means something very sweet. Chocolate evokes our emotions and we can feel so happy while eating chocolate. And during my pregnancy, I so much craved for chocolates. And for me, chocolates means sweetness. And I can't afford any chocolate which is so bitter in taste. Okay, so I am not a fan of chocolates to be very frank. I am not a sweet person or I don't have a sweet tooth. I am more of a sour, spicy. I am someone who is interested in spicy food. So for me, sweet is not that. I am not a fan of sweet chocolates. But particularly when it comes to a particular chocolate, if I don't like it, it is specifically bounty. It is a particular brand you get in all GCC countries. The brand is called Bounty. And the reason for not loving is that I am someone who is not a fan of coconut. And this chocolate particularly comes with grated coconut coated with chocolate, which is not at all a good combination. I didn't find it interesting. Some might love it. For instance, my parents love bounty very much. But I am not at all a fan of it. And so I never thought of giving it a second chance again. But according to me, I personally prefer chocolates that are coated with wafers or hazelnut. For instance, like Kit Kat. I love Kit Kat because it has this wafer type, which is something more interesting. And Ferrero Rocher, it has this nuts, hazelnut, which I am particularly fond of. That is the type of chocolates that I personally prefer, even though I'm not a fan of chocolates. And the chocolate that I particularly don't like is bounty because I'm not a fan of coconut. And this, the combination of coconut with chocolate is something which I cannot imagine of. And I've tried it once, once only in my lifetime. And I never thought of giving it a second chance.

Follow up questions

What other flavors do you dislike in chocolates?
Apart from coconut, I also find that I don't enjoy chocolates with strong fruit flavors, like orange or raspberry. They tend to be too sweet and tangy for my taste. I prefer more balanced flavors, or those that incorporate nuts or wafers.

How do you feel about dark chocolate?
I actually appreciate dark chocolate more than milk chocolate because it has a richer flavor and less sweetness. However, I still prefer it without any added ingredients like coconut or fruit. A simple dark chocolate bar is more appealing to me.

Do you think your taste in chocolates will change in the future?
It's hard to say, but I believe that as I try more varieties, my preferences might evolve. However, I still think I will always lean towards chocolates with nuts or wafers rather than those with coconut or overly sweet flavors.

I am a person who loves chocolate but only dark chocolate. I used to consume normal chocolate with sugar but now I only consume dark chocolate with less sugar or no sugar because I followed my nutrition diet for losing weight so I avoided sugar and now it's my habit to not taking sugar in anything. Here I would like to talk about a particular chocolate which I didn't like that is my chocolate from Thailand. Last month my brother visited Thailand and he brought so many chocolates from Thailand for the whole family. Last Sunday he came to my home and gifted me those chocolates. I didn't deny to receive the chocolates but when I tried to consume it, it was very bad in taste. I have never tasted, I have never eaten it before.

Follow up questions

What specific flavors did you find unappealing in the Thai chocolate?
The Thai chocolate had a very strange combination of flavors that didn't blend well. It was overly sweet and had a weird aftertaste that I couldn't quite place. I think it might have been the ingredients used, as I am used to the rich, deep flavor of dark chocolate.

How do you usually choose the chocolates you like?
I usually look for chocolates that are dark and have a high cocoa content. I also check the sugar levels and prefer those that are organic or have natural sweeteners. The texture is important too; I like smooth chocolates rather than those with added crunch or unusual fillings.

Have you tried any other chocolates from different countries?
Yes, I've tried chocolates from Belgium and Switzerland, which are known for their quality. I enjoyed them a lot because they have a rich flavor and are often made with high-quality ingredients. I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making chocolates from those regions.

Cue 1:Introduction

  • Begin by introducing the chocolate you didn't like, mentioning its name and brand.
  • Provide a brief context about when and where you tried it.

Example

I want to talk about a chocolate bar called 'Bitter Delight' that I tried last year at a local store. I was curious about it because it was marketed as a premium dark chocolate, and I had heard mixed reviews from friends.

Cue 2:What was it?

  • Describe the appearance and packaging of the chocolate to give a visual context.
  • Mention any specific ingredients that stood out to you.

Example

The chocolate came in a sleek black wrapper with gold lettering, which made it look very appealing. It was made with 85% cocoa, and I was excited to try it because I usually enjoy dark chocolate.

Cue 3:What did it taste like?

  • Share your first impressions of the taste when you took a bite.
  • Include details about the texture and any flavors that were prominent.

Example

When I took a bite, the texture was quite smooth, but the taste was overwhelmingly bitter. It had a strong cocoa flavor that was almost too intense for my palate, and there were no hints of sweetness to balance it out.

Cue 4:And explain why you didn’t like it.

  • Discuss your personal preferences regarding chocolate and how this one did not meet them.
  • Mention any specific reasons, such as the bitterness or lack of flavor variety.

Example

I didn't like it mainly because I prefer chocolates that have a balance of sweetness and richness. The bitterness was just too much for me, and I felt it lacked the creamy texture that I enjoy in chocolates. It left a dry aftertaste that I found unpleasant.

Conclusion

    Example

In conclusion, while 'Bitter Delight' may appeal to some dark chocolate lovers, it certainly wasn't for me. I learned that not all chocolates are created equal, and I will stick to brands that offer a more balanced flavor profile in the future.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

The chocolate I didn't like the most is the almond bar chocolate. I first tried it when my family, we went for a vacation in Ooty for my summer vacation. I think it was last year I guess. We have roamed around all the places and visited all the sightseeing. Finally before coming to Chennai, we wanted to buy some homemade chocolates. So we went in for a chocolate hunt. We go to 10 shops and searched for all the chocolates which is available there. And then the shop owners usually gives sample for us to taste and select which one to buy. While tasting, I had dark chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate with raisins and finally the almond dark chocolate. Actually I am not a huge fan of the almonds. So eventually I don't like the almond dark chocolate. But I like the other chocolates such as dark and white chocolate. So for me eating almond is like, it's a hard thing for me. So I was frustrated with having almond dark chocolate. This is my most hated chocolate.

Actually I am a pretty good fan of a chocolate, I usually enjoy eating my chocolates everyday but one of the chocolates which I recently ate is a chocolate that contains coconut, an American chocolate bought by my uncle. So as it is containing coconut, I felt it tasted awkward and it also contains more amount of dark chocolate. I usually don't prefer eating the chocolates that contain dark chocolate compound and coconut in it as I don't like the taste. So I felt it really very sore and too much weird to eat the chocolate. I would not prefer eating coconut chocolates. I mostly like eating milk chocolates and more... I could say I like to eat more...

Chocolate is one of my favorite food. I have a sweet tooth. It's not just about chocolate, but anything sweet, I would gladly have it. Even when I'm full, I would never say no to a sweet food. But there was this one time, when I was eating a chocolate named Tuffle, I absolutely didn't like it. It was offered to me by one of my friends. She got it from her cousin, who was in abroad. He bought it for her, and she shared it with me. When I first tasted it, it had this dark chocolate and wine-y flavor combined, which didn't impress me. I actually didn't like it. I didn't want to try it again. That's how I felt when I first had that chocolate. The chocolate had this creamy texture with wine and dark chocolate flavor, which as I said before, I think that was the main reason. The combination of those two flavors, which I didn't like a lot. Apart from that, as I said before, I'm an absolute sweet lover.

    Band 6-7

The chocolate that I did not like was Dairy Milk Soak. The reason why I didn't like it was firstly, it was too sticky. I mean, I actually prefer chocolates that contain some crisp flavor in it. I mean, it should have some walnuts or nuts in it for a crunchy flavor. But Dairy Milk Soak did not have any of those. Well, it was just too plain to be real. And while eating, it just stuck on my teeth and I didn't like the fact that I had to pay double the amount I pay for buying some good rated chocolates. And that's the reason why I don't like it.

I hope everyone likes chocolate. In my way, I also like a chocolate but I don't like a dark chocolate because dark chocolate is very burnt. It is very bitter but it is very healthy for a dietitian or a diet for people but I don't like that type of chocolate because in my point of view, I am the person who eats very well and without any hesitation will gain weight or anything because this is a life to live a happy life. I think we have to enjoy each and everything so I don't like dark chocolate because it is very bitter.
