When was VTU founded?
In India, state governments are in charge of monitoring colleges and are responsible for providing education for the advancement of their respective states. The establishment of VTU and its dedication to specialised training were made possible by the state government of Karnataka passing the VTU Act in 1994 to enhance technical education organisation in the state. VTU is described as:

- The VTU Act gave VTU authority as the state’s only institution that can affix students for specialised training.
- All express schools that provided specialised programmes were determined to change their connection with local state universities to VTU.
VTU’s Chancellor
The Executive Council and Academic Chamber of VTU, whose members are selected from the academic community and government authorities, are in charge of the university. Sri Vajubhai Vala, the legislative governor of the state of Karnataka, is the institution’s current chancellor. Dr Karisiddappa is the vice-chancellor.
