The full form of SWAT is Special Weapons and Tactics. It applies to a law enforcement organisation made up of the best police officers in the country, equipped with military technologies and techniques. The team is qualified and skilled to conduct high-risk jobs that are outside the scope of conventional police officers’ training and experience.
The everyday duties of the SWAT team include hostage rescue, counterterrorism operations, apprehending individuals with heavy weapons, and so forth. Many other countries have their own unique teams that are required to form internal PPUs (paramilitary police units), which are regarded to maintain and manage these situations in a manner comparable to or identical to SWAT groups.
