Regarding RTO Office
The first government organisation to regulate transportation in a specific area was the RTO office. They control not only road transportation but also air, sea, and other forms of transportation. An RTO officer is responsible for ensuring that the traffic laws in his area are adhered to. The RTO office is normally open from Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
RTOs must apply each vehicle’s Public Service Vehicle (PSV) badge. This PSV contains pertinent information, such as the driver’s name and residence, registration number, the length of the driver’s licence, the person’s status for police verification, etc. A list of PSVs is kept and occasionally updated by the RTO office.
