What is the full form of RBS?

The full form of RBS is Royal Bank of Scotland. RBS is Scotland’s largest retail and business bank. It is one of the NatWest Group’s retail banking divisions, along with NatWest in England and Wales and Ulster Bank. Although there are divisions in several important cities and towns in England and Wales, the majority of RBS branches are located in Scotland. The bank is not to be confused with the Bank of Scotland, an Edinburgh-based bank that is 32 years older than the Royal Bank.

The RBS was founded in 1724 as a bank with strong Hanoverian and Whig affiliations. In order to ring-fence the group’s core domestic economy, the bank became a direct subsidiary of NatWest Holdings in 2019. NatWest Markets is the group’s wealth management division. In order to provide legal form, the old RBS firm was renamed NatWest Markets in 2018. At the same time, Adam & Company, which had a different PRA banking licence, was renamed The Royal Bank of Scotland, with Adam & Company remaining in Scotland as an RBS private banking brand, similar to Messrs. Drummond & Child & Co. in England.

Why one must consider RBS test?

The primary goal of random blood sugar tests is to examine random blood sugar levels. A random blood sugar range of 200mg/dl or higher indicates the presence of diabetes mellitus. With a diabetes diagnosis, a random blood sugar test aids in the timely treatment of the disease by monitoring during and after treatment. If a person has any of the symptoms listed below, a doctor can order an RBS test.

  • Unintended Weight loss
  • Dehydration and dry mouth
  • Slow healing of the wound
  • Blurry vision
  • Frequent urination

The Procedure of the test

RBS examination technique

This random glucose test is a simple test that a doctor or nurse can perform in their office or clinic on short notice. There is no need for the patient to fast beforehand. The test necessitates a little blood sample, which the doctor or nurse will get with a needle, usually from the finger.

Results of the test

A random blood sugar lab test is a useful tool for monitoring blood sugar levels. The sugar levels differ between before and after meals. Values might differ from person to person. Sugar levels are calculated using conventional values.

  • If the RBS test is performed within one or two hours of eating, the RBS normal value should be 180 mg/dl, according to the American Diabetes Association.
  • For healthy blood sugar levels in the body, the RBS normal range should be between 80 mg/dl and 130 mg/dl prior to eating.
  • If the result is 140 mg/dl to 199 mg/dl, the person is pre-diabetic and may develop type 2 diabetes.
  • A person with a blood sugar level of 200 mg/dl or higher is most likely diabetic.
