History of RBL bank

  • In August 1943, RBL was founded as a small regional bank in Maharashtra. It began with two branches in Sangli and Kolhapur.
  • It was designated as a Scheduled Commercial Bank in August 1959.
  • When Mr Vishwavir Ahuja took over as MD and CEO of RBL Bank in July 2010, it experienced a substantial transformation from an old private bank to a professionally run modern bank.
  • In August 2016, it was listed on the NSE (National Stock Exchange) and the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange).
