What is the full form of PO?

The full form of PO is Probationary Officer. It is an entry-level position offered to new members of Indian Banks. The freshly hired freshers in this role are known as probationary officers and serve for a certain period of probation.

During the probationary period, the trainee is required to complete the seniors’ tasks and work in various bank department tasks, including processing checks, opening accounts, handling foreign exchange, obtaining credit ratings, processing loans, and managing the treasury, among others.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To be eligible to apply for a Bank PO, a candidate must have graduated from an accredited board.
  • There is an age restriction and certain caste-based age relaxation for applicants to this entrance test.
  • For example, SC/ST students have a five-year age relaxation, while OBC applicants have a three-year relaxation.

Another full form of PO is the Post Office. The post office is part of the national scheme of postal services. It offers customer care facilities such as mail-related services, i.e. packages of letters, and so on. It also provides postal, packaging & stationery postal stamps. Several post offices provide additional facilities, such as the provision and acceptance of government forms, the delivery of government services, fees & banking services.
