What is the full form of PHP?

The full form of PHP is Hypertext Preprocessor. Personal Home Page was how it was formerly referred to. It is a programming language frequently used to create web pages or online apps. The server-side programming language used to create dynamic websites, static websites, and online apps is encoded with HTML. Rasmus Lerdorf invented it back in 1994. The syntax of PHP is similar to that of C, C++, and Java. Dynamic websites, dynamic content, cookie databases, sessions, etc., are all handled by it.

PHP is used in the development of websites like www.facebook.com and www.yahoo.com. It is simple to interact with HTML files, and PHP scripts can even contain HTML code. The primary distinction between PHP and HTML is that PHP instructions are performed on the server, but HTML codes are directly rendered on the browser. PHP scripts are initially run on a server, and the output is then sent to the browser. Only the results returned after the PHP code has been executed on the server are understood by the browser or client; the browser or client does not understand the PHP script itself. PHP is capable of supporting client-side programming languages like Javascript and CSS.

Drawbacks of PHP

  • A PHP framework is not appropriate for error handling.
  • It is not suitable for widespread use due to its challenging maintenance.
  • Since PHP is open-source, everyone who codes can view its code. Other programmers can find the program’s weak point if there are any errors in the code.
