What Skills Does a PCT Require?
In addition to the appropriate licences, credentials, and registrations, a PCT should have the following abilities:
- Communication Skills: These are essential to handle the particular needs of patients or residents, as well as to communicate effectively with coworkers in the healthcare industry.
- Compassion: When working with the sick, injured, and elderly, compassion goes a long way.
- Patience: Caring for patients can be draining. Because PCTs frequently clean, feed, and/or wash patients or residents, you must keep your cool.
- Physical stamina: Like many other medical workers, you’ll be on your feet a lot. You should be able to perform physical duties with ease (like moving patients).
