What is the full form of NEET?

The full form of NEET is National Entrance and Eligibility Test. NEET is an admission exam for several medical programmes, including BDS, MBBS, and postgraduate study, at both public and private medical institutions. The NEET UG Exam is annually administered in various regions of India by the NTA (National Testing Agency), the exam’s overseeing body. Each year, between 11 and 13 lakh people apply to take this offline, objective question-based entrance exam (MCQ).

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen; if not, he or she must be an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indian (NRI), or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) (PIOs).
  • The age requirement for applicants in all categories is 17 years old.
  • The maximum age for students in the general group is 25 years old.
  • The maximum age for students in the reserved groups is 30.

Prerequisites

  • Students must have completed at least five mandatory subjects, such as physics, chemistry, biology, English, and an elective, in the Class 12 board test or a comparable exam from a recognised board or university.
  • Candidates must receive the required overall marks in qualifying exams. Physically challenged candidates in the general category obtain overall marks of 45% instead of the general category’s 50%. Candidates must receive 40% of the possible points for the SC, ST, or OBC categories and 40% of the possible points for the physically challenged SC, ST, or OBC categories.

NEET Test Questions

During the offline entry test, the National Testing Agency will deliver the code-by-code question paper. Question papers for NEET will be published in nine regional languages and seven national languages. When completing the application form, applicants will be prompted to select their preferred language for the question paper.
