What is the full form of NASDAQ?

The full form of NASDAQ is the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations. Investors can buy equities on an automated, simple, and speedy computer server through an American and Canadian stock market. It is a member of the New York, USA-based NASDAQ OMX Group. Regarding market value, it is the second-largest stock exchange after the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange). At the moment, it is stylised as NASDAQ.

  • The NASD established NASDAQ on February 8th, 1971. (National Association of Securities Dealers). It was currently a computer bulletin board programme.
  • In 1975, it created the IPO (first public offering), which enabled development corporations to raise money to expand their businesses.
  • The NASDAQ-100 Index was established in 1985.
  • In 1996, it launched the market’s first website, www.nasdaq.com.
  • In 1998, it merged with the US Stock Exchange, creating the NASDAQ-AMEX Market Association in the process.
  • In order to create the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ was reformed in 2000. In 2007, the NASDAQ acquired the Swedish-Finnish Finance company (OMX) and changed its name to NASDAQ OMX group.
  • The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the first US stock exchange, was acquired by NASDAQ OMX in 2008.
  • NASDAQ OMX provides a mobile edition of the Site in 2009, nasdaq.com.
