The full form of IRDP is the Integrated Rural Development Program. On October 2, 1980, the Government of India began implementing the IRDP nationally. Its goal is to provide rural communities in poverty with a self-employment opportunity so they can expand their companies and escape poverty. It particularly targets those who are impoverished and live in extreme poverty, such as rural artisans, small farmers, and agricultural workers.
