The full form of IEC is International Electrotechnical Commission. The IEC was founded in 1906 and is a nonprofit company. It creates and produces specifications based on international consensus and manages assessment techniques for the electronics, electrical, and associated technologies that are referred to as “electrotechnology” as a whole. IEC publications serve as a framework for national standardisation and as a source of information when creating documents such as international contracts and tenders.

There are IEC representatives present from every continent. They promote the interests of their countries, companies, corporations, governing bodies, educational institutions, and many other entities. The IEC also introduces new countries through its Affiliate Country Program.
