The full form of ICDS is the Integrated Child Development Services. An Indian government agency called ICDS provides meals, preschool, basic education, healthcare, health check-ups, immunizations, and referral services for mothers and children under six. The Morarji Desai administration withdrew the proposal in 1978, and the Tenth Five-Year Plan then revived it. Both pregnant and lactating mothers are eligible for the programme.
