What is the full form of DSP?

The full form of DSP is Deputy Superintendent of Police. The Indian police force has a police officer grade known as DSP. The state police are represented by the DSP, which controls the state policemen. The national emblem for this officer’s rank is displayed above one star on the shoulder strap.

According to state government laws, a DSP is comparable to an ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) and may be promoted to an IPS after a few years of service. To directly appoint police forces to the DSP level, exams are conducted each year. After the specified years of service, inspectors are frequently promoted to DSP.
