The full form of CA is Chartered Accountant. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, or ICAI, regulates Indian CAs. There are currently more than 2.70 000 CAs working in India.   • Candidates who planned to apply for the CA degree would have enrolled in the CPC programme through ICAI. Only applicants who have registered are eligible to take the CA exam. The following criteria must be met to qualify for CA.
  • Candidates must have passed their qualifying exams for levels 10 and 12 from an accredited education board or a comparable test.
  • Candidates may sit for the CA CPT exam if they have earned a commerce bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum GPA requirement of 55%.
  • Additionally, candidates who have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field other than commerce and have at least a 60 per cent average across all subjects are excluded from taking the entry-level exam.
  • A candidate must work as an Article Assistant for three years after finishing the CA foundation course before being eligible to take the CA final test.
