What is the full form of AIIMS?

The full form of AIIMS is All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India formed AIIMS, an association of public medical colleges dispersed throughout India. Its purpose is to establish a high standard of instruction in the UG and PG medical education programmes.

• Jawaharlal Nehru and Amit Kaur’s dreams led to the establishment of AIIMS in 1956. By way of an Act of Parliament, AIIMS was created as the hub for fostering excellence across the board in the healthcare industry.
• AIIMS offers high-quality education and learning resources.
• The AIIMS organises its educational system and also honours its degree in these UG and AIIMS PG programmes.
• Every medical applicant’s dream is to be accepted into one of the AIIMS institutions, also named Institutes of National Importance.

• It provides a range of medical programmes, including the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).
• In terms of medical research, it is a world leader. Its staff and researchers have produced more than 600 academic publications in only one year.
• Additionally, it conducts a nursing college where students can get a B.Sc. Hons. degree and manages a 60-bed hospital in Ballabgarh, Haryana.
• There are 25 clinical departments of AIIMS, including 4 super speciality centres, that cover every facet of clinical diseases. AIIMS, however, does not consider contagious diseases and dog bite events.
