The full form of SSB is Services Selection Board. The main organisation that evaluates candidates for positions as officials in the Indian Armed Forces is the Services Selection Board. The Board examines the rationality of becoming an official using the conventional framework for assessment, which includes meetings, character assessments, and insight assessments. There are two types of tests: composed tests and useful assignment-based tests.
An SSB board is made up of assessors who are members of the Indian Armed Forces with the specialisations of interviewing officers, group task officers (GTO), and psychologists. There are a total of thirteen Services Selection Boards located around India, of which the Indian Army has four sheets, the Air Force has four seats, and the Navy has five. The SSB assessment process lasts for 5 to 6 days.

Recruitment Procedure
There are numerous pathways to commission as an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. This holds true for both Indian citizens (after 10+2, graduation, and post-graduation) as well as those who work in the military. The number of attempts that may be made is unrestricted. The decision-making process lasts for five days. Day 1 consists of a screening test, Day 2 of mental tests, Days 3 and 4 of group projects, and Day 5 of the findings presented at the Conference. The qualities sought in the time period chosen include alertness, duty, activity, the ability to make decisions under pressure, the capacity to think critically and creatively, relational skills, assurance, mental fortitude, fearlessness, speed in dynamic, eagerness to set an example, empathy, and a sense of loyalty to the nation. The decision is based on Manasa, Vacha, and Karmana’s concepts.
The Service Selection Board comprises an Interviewing officer and assessors who are already officials in the Indian Armed Forces, having their respective specializations as Psychologists and Group Task Officers (GTO). The total number of seats is 13 and is divided as follows:

SSB- Eligibility Criteria
There are numerous options provided by the Indian armed services to obtain a job as a commissioned officer. Any Indian citizen who has completed their higher secondary education, graduation, or post-graduate degree is eligible to apply for the SSB.
