The JEE Examination’s Structure

  • The JEE Main eligibility test is required for candidates to take the JEE Advanced test, resulting in admission to NITs, IITs, etc.
  • The number of admission tries in a particular academic session is considered to be one since the JEE Main test is administered twice a year. Candidates may select one paper or both. It takes place online.
  • The three-hour exam has three papers and lasts for that time. Thirty MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) covering physics, chemistry, and math make up Paper 1. A negative score is given for the incorrect response.
  • Admission to BE and B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning programmes are determined by Papers 1, 2, and 3.
  • For the JEE Main exam, candidates may participate for three consecutive years; however, for the JEE Advanced exam, they may only compete for two consecutive years.
  • The General category had a passing score of 81, OBC had a score of 49, SC had a score of 32, ST had a score of 27, and PWD had a score of 1.
  • The National Testing Agency, which administers the exam, determines the cut-off score for JEE Main, and it varies depending on the category, such as General, OBC, SC & St and PWD.
