The full form of PCC is Police Clearance Certificate. PCCs are typically provided to Indian passport holders when they seek residency, long-term visas, immigration, or work abroad. It is a legal document provided by a government agency or police department confirming that the applicant has no criminal past.

Eligibility Criteria

The requirement to receive the PCC is that the individual should have a

  • Address proof
  • Indian passport
  • The applicant’s present address must be the same as that given in the passport and other documentary evidence.

Process for applying PCC in India

There are several ways to obtain the PCC in India, one of them is by online form submission. The stages required in this technique are as follows:

  • Register using the Passport Seva Online Portal. On the Home Page, click the “Register Now” option.
  • Log in to the Passport Seva Online Portal using the Login Id you created in the previous step.
  • Click the “Apply for PCC” button.
  • Complete and submit the required information.
  • To get the appointment, you must now pay online. Then, click the “Print Application Receipt” button to get a receipt that includes the ARN (Application Reference Number) or Appointment Number.
  • Bring your original documents to the specified PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) or RPO (Regional Passport Office).
