What is the full form of DST?

The full form of DST is the Department of Science & Technology. It is a division within the Ministry of Science and Technology of India. It was established on May 3rd, 1971, with the goals of fostering new scientific and technological sectors and acting as the nation’s central organisation for organising, coordinating, and promoting scientific and technological endeavours.

DST carries out various activities relating to particular projects and services, a few of that are listed below.

  • Develops policies based on science and technology.
  • It handles problems involving the SACC (Scientific Advisory Committee of the Cabinet).
