A brief history of SVC bank

  • SVC Co-operative Bank Limited was founded at a time when cooperation was just beginning to take off in the country.
  • It was established with the primary objective of assisting the less fortunate members of the community in their business endeavours, promoting savings, and creating funds to support deserving individuals financially.
  • The Maharshi of Cooperation, the Late Rao Bahadur Shripad Subbarao Tamaki, was primarily responsible for creating the Bank. He named it after Late Shamrao Vithal Kaikini, who served as both his primary mentor and controller.
  • The Bank was initially registered as a cooperative credit society on December 27, 1906.
  • As a result, the Bank started out modestly but was driven by lofty goals to raise the economic, material, and moral well-being of society.
