What is the full form of DSC?

The full form of DSC is the Digital Signature Certificate. To verify and authenticate the identity of the person holding the certificate, the certifying authority offers a secured digital key known as a DSC. Public key authentication is used in digital signatures to create the signature. The user’s profile, pin code, country, email address, certificate issuance date, and name of the certifying authority are all included in the DSC.

Types of DSC

The class of DSC to be applied depends on the client type and the objective for which the DSC is acquired. The three distinct DSC kinds are

Type 1 Certificates

These are provided to the person or private users who are used to check that maybe the recipient’s name and contact information are found in the database of the certifying agency in the clearly specified topic area.

Type 2 Certificates

These are given to the organization’s director or signing authority for e-filing with the ROC ( Registrar of Companies). For those who have to sign paperwork when filing ROC returns manually, Type 2 certification is required.

Type 3 Certificates

These certificates are accepted throughout India for online participation or bidding in online tenders and e-auctions. A Type 3 digital signature certificate is required for sellers who want to engage in online bidding.

Advantages of DSC

• Conducting business online can validate an entity’s legitimacy and personal information.
• Instead of signing and scanning a paper copy of the file to mail it, you can sign the PDF file in its digital format and begin delivering it to the recipient. It is not necessary for the holder of a certificate that has been digitally signed to show themselves to a business for approval physically.
• These documents are utilised all over India for online participation and/or bidding in e-auctions and online tenders. Vendors need a Class 3 digital certificate to participate in online bidding.
