The full form of SHO is Station House Officer. SHO is the name of the person in command of the neighbourhood police station. He is in charge of preserving peace and order in his area and oversees the operations of the police station. He is placed beneath the DSP but above the Sub Inspector (SI) (Deputy Police Superintendent). Three stars on his shoulder strap and a blue and red striped ribbon serve as his division’s symbol. A team of SI, Head Constables, and Constables supports him.
