What is the full form of a PDF?

The full form of PDF is Portable Document Format. Invented by tech giant Adobe, it is one of the most commonly used file formats today. Dr John Warnock invented it as part of the paper-to-digital revolution in 1992. He aimed to help people capture documents from any application, transfer them, and view and print them from any machine. Soon this developed into the PDF millions of individuals and corporations worldwide use and trust today.

PDFs have specific standards to adhere to, like ISO 32000. There are different qualities for PDFs, such as the ones for printing, engineering and archiving. One can also create PDFs that meet various accessibility standards so that people with disabilities can use them. A PDF can include images, words, spreadsheets and so on.
