What is the full form of ITI?

The full form of ITI is Industrial Training Institute, a government training organization responsible for providing high school students with industry-related education. Nevertheless, certain trades still accept applications after the eighth grade. These institutions are specifically designed to provide technical information to students who have just completed the 10th grade and are more interested in acquiring technical knowledge than higher education. The Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, the Directorate-General for Employment and Training (DGET), and the Union Government formed ITI to offer training in several trades.

There are numerous ITIs, both public and private, all over India that provide students with vocational training. Once the training is over, candidates will show up for the All India Trade Test (AITT). Qualified candidates will then be given National Trade Certificates (NTC).

An ITI’s primary objective is to train its applicants for the industry and prepare them for the workforce. To enable this, ITIs also offer apprenticeship courses.

ITIs in India offer trade training programmes. Every trade is founded on a certain industry or set of abilities. ITI courses take anywhere between six months and two years to complete. The kind and nature of the course will determine how long it is.

ITI courses are broadly classified into two types. They are:

• Engineering trades
• Non-engineering trades

Engineering programmes are technical trades. They emphasize principles in Engineering, Physics, Math, and Technology. The majority of non-Engineering courses lack a technological component. They emphasize language proficiency, soft skills, and other industry-specific abilities and knowledge.

Different courses have different eligibility requirements. The list below includes some of the components.

• The applicant must have earned a passing grade in 10th grade from an accredited board or any other test considered equivalent to the 10th standard.
• A minimum cumulative score of 35% is required.
• The candidate must be between 14 and 40 years of age at the time of application.

The government and reputable private organizations both rely on a merit-based admission process. To select qualified candidates, some institutions conduct written exams. Some private institutions are said to use a direct admission process.
