When can I resit the IELTS exam?
You can resit the IELTS exam as soon as you feel ready - there is no mandatory waiting period between attempts. It’s best to allow enough time for focused preparation to improve your score.
If you want to improve just one section (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking), IELTS offers a "One Skill Retake" option for computer-based tests. This must be taken within 60 days of your original test date and is subject to availability.
If you need help planning your retake, reach out to your LeapScholar counsellor.

Since you are targeting the January 2027 intake, it's best to book your IELTS test soon so your scores are available for university applications. Both computer-based and paper-based IELTS dates are offered regularly in India, with computer-based slots available almost daily and paper-based tests on select dates each month (subject to change).
