The BMAT exam includes three types of questions:

- Aptitude and Skills: Multiple-choice questions testing problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis.
- Scientific Knowledge and Applications: Multiple-choice questions covering biology, chemistry, physics, and maths based on school-level science (up to age 16).
- Writing Task: One essay, where you select and argue a position on a given topic, often related to science, ethics, or general issues.

The BMAT has been discontinued, and most universities now use the UCAT admissions test from 2024 onwards.
