What is the stay back duration for courses in New Zealand on the green list for a Bachelor's/Diploma?
The post-study work visa (PSWV) duration in New Zealand for Green List courses depends on your qualification level:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree: Up to 3 years if studied full-time for at least 30 weeks
- Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma: Typically matches your study length (e.g., 3 years of study = up to 3 years PSWV)
- Diploma/Certificate (Level 4 - 6): Duration matches your study period; work rights may be limited to your field
From 16 November 2026, Level 7 Graduate Diploma holders with a bachelor's degree also become eligible. PSWV rules are subject to change.
