You must show NZD 20,000/year for your own living expenses as the student. While there’s no strict separate amount for your spouse, it’s strongly recommended to show additional funds to cover their living costs.

You can provide combined financial proof - such as recent bank statements, fixed deposits, education loan letters, or scholarship letters - demonstrating you have enough funds for both of you.

If your spouse will apply for a Partner Work Visa, they may also need to show access to about NZD 4,200 for initial living expenses.

These requirements are subject to change. For a smooth application, ensure your financial evidence clearly covers both your and your spouse’s costs.
